Safety

Safety and listing policy

Effective date: 6 July 2026

Binja is built to make housing discovery safer, clearer, and easier. This policy explains what is allowed, what is not allowed, and how users can report problems.

1. Listing rules

Listings must be accurate, lawful, current, and not misleading.

A listing must not include fake properties, false prices, hidden charges, copied photos without permission, unavailable properties presented as available, misleading location details, discriminatory language, unsafe viewing instructions, requests for suspicious payment methods, or impersonation of landlords, agents, or property owners.

2. Landlord and agent responsibility

Landlords, agents, property owners, and listing publishers are responsible for the accuracy and legality of what they post.

If you operate as a property intermediary, you are responsible for holding any licence required by law.

3. User safety

Before making payment or signing an agreement, users should verify the person offering the property, check that the property exists, ask for clear written terms, avoid pressure to pay urgently, avoid unusual payment methods, view the property where possible, keep communication records, and be careful with deals that look too good to be true.

4. Prohibited conduct

Users must not post fake listings, scam or attempt to scam others, harass, threaten, abuse users, discriminate unlawfully, upload illegal content, impersonate another person, misuse another user’s personal data, scrape or copy platform data without permission, or use Binja for spam or harmful activity.

5. Reporting a problem

You can report fake listings, suspicious payment requests, impersonation, discrimination, illegal content, unsafe behaviour, misleading listing information, harassment, abuse, or privacy concerns.

Report issues through the report button where available or contact safety@binja.app.

6. What happens after a report

Binja may review the report, request more information, restrict the listing, remove content, suspend an account, warn a user, or take other action. In serious cases, users may also need to contact the relevant authority or seek legal advice.

7. Appeals

If your listing or account is restricted and you believe a mistake was made, you can request a review by contacting appeals@binja.app. Include your account email, the listing involved, and a clear explanation.

8. No guarantee

Binja may take steps to improve safety, but we cannot guarantee that every listing, user, landlord, agent, or viewing is safe or accurate. Users must make their own checks before making decisions.
